Yadexy Sierra, ACCET Commission Chair, will update the attendees on recent happenings and paint a bright stroke on ACCET’s future. Kate Zulaski, ACCET’s Deputy Executive Director, will add her perspective on our conference theme, “Together Towards Tomorrow” as well as her insight into the forward thinking of ACCET. Dr. Scott Fitzgibbon, our keynote speaker, is well-known in our sector and always inspires and motivates his audiences. He understands those things that are important to the mood of our space.
Dr. Scott Fitzgibbon has been involved in higher education since 1991 with wide-ranging experience in teaching, admissions, student services, and career services. Scott has worked extensively with school administrators and faculty specializing in cognitive-behavioral training, adult learning, learner-centered approach toward management and teaching, student persistence and retention, residence life, student services, personal coaching, and behavioral management. He has taught thousands of employees and students to apply behavioral understanding toward teaching, learning, teamwork, admissions, and student services.
Dr. Fitzgibbon is a co-author of The Pacific Institute’s Thought Patterns for High Performance® Mindsetting for Success and Well-Being in the Digital Age curriculum. The Thought Patterns student success curriculum has reached over 1,600,000 students and 35,000 school employees over the last 25 years.
In addition to his work within education, Dr. Fitzgibbon has designed and implemented professional development training and evaluation initiatives for healthcare and service providers, social service and government agencies, and manufacturing. He has earned a Doctorate in Education Administration from the University of Pittsburgh (2002), a master’s degree in Student Personnel Services and Counseling also from the University of Pittsburgh (1995), and a bachelor's degree in Business Finance from St. Vincent College (1991). In addition, he is a Pennsylvania Licensed Professional Counselor (2002).
Dr. Fitzgibbon has guest lectured for numerous international, national, and state association conferences.
