Thomas R. Tillia Community Service Award


In an effort to recognize a member institution with a unique, spirited, and outstanding record of community service, ACCET established its community service award in honor of the late Thomas R. “Tom” Tillia of Elwood City, Pennsylvania. Tom Tillia dutifully served ACCET for over 20 years working both as Commission Representative and as Commission Chair, and left an indelible impact on ACCET through his years of community service, volunteerism, and inspirational energy.

The Thomas R. Tillia Community Service Award will be presented at the 2021 ACCET Annual Conference, Together Towards Tomorrow, scheduled for November 3-5, 2021, in Las Vegas, Nevada. ACCET welcomes applications from all member institutions that are currently accredited and in good standing.  


Instructions and Guidelines

  1. All applications must be submitted by September 20, 2021, to Donna Hutchison at dhutchison@accet.org and/or Derek Kerr at dkerr@accet.org. Questions regarding application submissions should also be directed to Donna Hutchison or Derek Kerr.
  1. ACCET welcomes applications from all member institutions that are currently accredited and in good standing.
  1. Institutions with multiple branch campus locations can submit an application on behalf of one branch location and its specific and particular involvement separate from the institution as a whole.
  1. Receipt of all applications will be acknowledged by an ACCET employee within 48 hours of submission. If, for any reason, receipt of your submission is not acknowledged within the 48-hour timeframe, please contact Donna Hutchison at dhutchison@accet.org.
  1. Submissions will be reviewed, discussed, and finalized by the ACCET Community Service Award Committee.
  1. The institution selected as the recipient for 2021 Thomas R. Tillia Community Service Award will be recognized for its outstanding community contributions at the annual ACCET conference and will be invited to provide a brief presentation to the membership in attendance.
